DSI Cindicator is a caries indicator, used to detect and visualize dental caries (tooth decay) during oral examinations. The dye works by staining the areas of tooth enamel that have been demineralized or softened by acid produced by bacteria in dental plaque.
DSI Cindicator penetrates the porous enamel of the teeth and selectively binds to areas of demineralization or decay. These areas appear colored by the green dye. Once applied, you can visually inspect the teeth under proper lighting conditions. The stained areas indicate where decay or demineralization is present, helping you identify and diagnose cavities.
Indications:
Detecting early stages of decay - helps to identify early signs of tooth decay that may not be visible to the naked eye.
Locating hidden cavities - Useful for locating cavities in areas that are difficult to examine visually, such as the fissures and pits of molars.
Assessing tooth surface integrity - used to assess the integrity of tooth surfaces and identify areas of enamel demineralization.
Monitoring the progression of decay - monitor the progression of decay over time. By periodically applying the dye during dental check-ups.
Enhancing diagnostic accuracy - serves as an adjunctive diagnostic aid with other diagnostic methods such as visual examination and radiographs.
